The new boy of the UFO Course Yamaha squad, Spaniard Cristobal Guerrero, produced some eye-opening performances in his first season with the team and on the WR250F in 2007.
Guerrero enjoyed a great deal of success during his first few years of World Enduro Championship competition, the highlight of which was winning the 2005 World Junior title. At just 22 years of age Cristobal has shown great maturity and ability to compete in any class and on any capacity of bike. Stepping into the senior ranks for the first time in 2006 the young Spaniard rode exceptionally well, claiming an eventual sixth place finish in the highly competitive Enduro 2 class.
Having tasted success as a junior world championship rider and having ridden admirably in his initial season as a senior competitor, Cristobal rose to a new challenge in 2007 in E1. He ended the year with a very respectable fourth position overall to give Yamaha three machines in the top seven and earned the notable distinction of being the first rider to defeat eventual champion Juha Salminen.
Growing in confidence with every event, Cristobal matured from an aggressive and determined youngster into a protagonist that will undoubtedly feature regularly on the podium in ’08.
