MX-GP: David Philippaerts back on track

Monster Energy Yamaha rider David Philippaerts took to the track last week for the first time in four months. The 2008 FIM MX1 World Champion completed his first training outing after suffering breaks to both wrists in an accident while practicing for the Grand Prix of Czech Republic in the first week of August. The soon-to-be 28 year old has been following a comprehensive and carefully planned rehab and recovery process and was relieved and excited to see that the first ride near his home in Borgosesia went extremely well.

One week after his sensational debut MX1-GP victory on the Monster Energy Yamaha YZ450FM at the Grand Prix of Italy Gautier Paulin sent a 68,000 crowd into rapture at St Jean D'Angely for the 65th Motocross of Nations. The Frenchman won the second of three motos at the shower-hit, hardpack and heavily rutted circuit on the west coast and helped his country to second position overall, almost defeating the powerful Team USA.

Monster Energy Yamaha have gone through a whirlwind of emotions in the last twenty-four hours with the maiden MX1-GP victory of Gautier Paulin in the Grand Prix of Italy yesterday and the news that Steven Frossard has finished his first season in the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship with an excellent second position on the YZ450FM. Unfortunately Frossard underwent a scan on his chest today (Monday 12th September) and the air bubble in his lungs that caused an infection and forced the Frenchman to sit out the final meeting of the season at Fermo is still present.

Monster Energy Yamaha's Gautier Paulin stepped up to the premier MX1-GP class in fine style by taking the powerful and agile factory YZ450FM to victory at a sizzling Fermo and the Grand Prix of Italy. The final round of fifteen in the FIM Motocross World Championship was played out in front of 18,000 spectators and across the steep and hard-pack track on the Adriatic coast, south of Ancona.

Frossard ruled out of final 2011 Grand Prix

Monster Energy Yamaha's Steven Frossard will sadly not be able to contest the Grand Prix of Italy at Fermo this weekend for the fifteenth and final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

The Frenchman had initially planned to enter the meeting after feeling no ill effects in the wake of his crash last Sunday at Gaildorf in Germany.

Boissiere steps up at tough European GP

Monster Energy Yamaha's Anthony Boissiere picked an ideal moment to shine and record not only his best moto finish in the MX1-GP class with third position but also his highest overall classification in the premier class with sixth place across the hard-pack, slippery and difficult Gaildorf terrain in Germany for the Grand Prix of Europe. Team-mate Steven Frossard was given an 'all-clear' from the hospital after a heavy crash from third position in the first moto required a check-up.

Monster Energy Yamaha have confirmed one half of the six-rider crew that will tackle the 2012 FIM Motocross World Championship on factory YZ450FM and YZ250FM technology and are delighted to announced that Steven Frossard, David Philippaerts and Christophe Charlier will continue to run the distinctive 'black and green' livery for next year.
