The Bike - YZ250F

YZ250F (tuned by De Carli)
Yamaha’s YZ250F is a legendary bike in the off-road world, creating a new class of motocrosser (the 250cc four-stroke) since its inception in 2001, paving the way for the latest generation of MX2 class machines.

The YZ250F was an instant hit on its Grand Prix introduction in 2003, dominating the second half of the 125 championship with Stefan Everts and claiming eight from nine races, scooping the manufacturer’s crown. In the first year of MX2 in 2004 the bike was again gracing the top step of the podium. The following campaign Italian Antonio Cairoli obtained a first title for the machine on an YZ250F prepared by famed tuner Claudio de Carli. He repeated his success in 2007 after finishing runner-up in ’06.

The race-proven production YZ250F is an excellent base and still sets the standard in the class with at least five teams fielding the machinery. Subtle modifications to Cairoli’s championship-winning motorcycle include factory Solva suspension and Newfren brake components. De Carli’s famed engineering skills have been poured into the motor with a Leo Vince exhaust system allowing the gasses to flow smoothly from the potent powerplant.
