Josh Hill has been connected with Yamaha since he turned professional in 2006. Brief outings in the AMA MX series yielded promising results and in 2007 he contested both SX and MX. He enjoyed more success in the Indoor arenas where he scored two podiums, however the motocross circuits were not so kind and 15th place overall at the end of the season was unexpected.
Still competing for the American factory team in 2008 Hill was much better suited to the power of the YZ450F for his larger frame and a first ever victory in the premier Supercross class arrived at the Minneapolis Metrodome. He finished 5th in ‘08 but was frustrated by a shoulder injury throughout the 2009 campaign that also blighted his efforts in the MX Nationals. Hill has a strong family background in the sport and holds the distinction of being one of the few racers out of Oregon. He lines-up with James Stewart in 2010 on the new YZ450F.
