Team Yamaha Team YZF
Team Mate Shinichi Nakatomi

Team YZF Yamaha has an immaculate pedigree in many motorcycle racing disciplines from GP road racing to motocross, enduro and desert rallies. Originally given birth to by the French Yamaha distributor, Team YZF Yamaha was brought under the wing of Yamaha Motor Europe at the start of 2007.

With a sole rider in 2007 in the form of Japanese rider Shinichi Nakatomi, the team put in a consistent performance over the course of the season. Most notably, Nakatomi took his best result to date - a pair of ninth places - at Vallelunga, showing how much progress was made in 2007.

For 2008 the team continues to focus its international road racing activities on the World Superbike Championship with Shinichi Nakatomi once again the solo rider for the team.
Based in the Vallee de l'Arve, just a few kilometres from Geneva on the French/Swiss border, the squad is run by the experienced Martial Garcia and his team at MG Competition. The company has a dedicated team of engineers and a close working relationship with Yamaha's development team in Japan. MG Competition has been responsible for the European testing programme of Yamaha's YEC racing kit parts for several years, as well as running the technical aspects of Team YZF Yamaha's road racing operations.

Part of the development process involves proving the parts they develop in the ultimate class of production racing - the World Superbike Championship. One of the main objectives for the team is to improve the competitiveness of the YEC range of race parts as well as run a development programme for future YEC kit parts.

For 2008 Team YZF Yamaha are spreading their wings to new race classes; in addition to contesting in WSB with Nakatomi, the team will challenge for the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup with the young Frenchman Sylvain Barrier. This will provide the team with even more opportunities to develop and test the range of YEC racing kit parts.
