Kade Johnson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but has since made the move to Hideaway, Texas, which serves a purpose in terms of his amateur motocross training regimen. Kade is not your typical 11 year old as he dedicates a good portion of his life to the sport of motocross - whether it be fitness training, nutrition, physical therapy, or traveling to races. On the contrary, Kade is also not your typical amateur motocross competitor as he attends public school and has received outstanding accolades in both education and community service.
In addition to his training program off the bike, Kade spends time training under the direction of the 2015 AMSOIL Arenacross Champion, Kyle Regal, at Quick’s Moto Ranch in Kemp, Texas. In June of 2018, he was the first rider to win an AMA number one plate on the brand new YZ65 and would’ve collected more trophies throughout the season if it wasn’t for a couple of injuries. The young Yamaha rider shows determination and wisdom beyond his years as he stays true to a strict program on and off the track that some professional riders could learn from, exemplified by the massive stack of number one plates he’s accrued over the years.
Kade will contest the 2019 season on both the YZ65 and YZ85 as a part of the Cycle Trader | Rock River | Yamaha program.
