Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Justin Cooper scored his second-straight Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250MX overall victory at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park with a pair of runner-up finishes yesterday in Lakewood, Colorado. His fellow 250 Supercross Champion, Colt Nichols rebounded from another tough start to the day, finishing fifth overall with a 9-5 result. Jeremy Martin fired the first shot with a win in Moto 1, but unfortunately had a crash early in Moto 2 and was unable to finish, ending the day eighth overall (1-40). The team’s young guns continued to make progress with Nate Thrasher finishing 12th (11-10) and Jarrett Frye 13th (12-13).

Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Jeremy Martin got his Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250MX Championship campaign off to a great start with a 1-2 moto finish for second overall at yesterday’s season opener in Pala, California. Justin Cooper also had a good start to the season, finishing third overall (5-3) to give the team a double podium at Fox Raceway. Colt Nichols struggled at a challenging first outdoor round but fought his way back to ninth overall with a 9-12 tally. Jarrett Frye finished 12th overall (13-14), while Nate Thrasher had to come back from some crashes to end the day 17th (16-17).

The Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing team looks to carry their championship-winning form to the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with a strong start to this Saturday’s season opener at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. Spearheading the campaign are proven title contenders: 2021 250SX East Champion Colt Nichols, 2021 250SX West Champion Justin Cooper, and two-time 250MX Champion Jeremy Martin. Joining the veterans for their first full outdoor season are young-up-and-coming riders Nate Thrasher and Jarrett Frye.
Ferrandis Claims Career-First Pro Motocross Championship

Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis’ dream of becoming a motocross champion of U.S. soil has come true for the Frenchman, clinching the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250MX Championship on his third-place overall (2-5) at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. The championship caps off a stellar season for Ferrandis who also earned his second-straight 250SX West title earlier this year. Shane McElrath finished just off the podium in fourth overall with a 5-4 result and claimed the team’s 14th holeshot of the season in Moto 2. Rookie Jarrett Frye grabbed his best finish of the season in sixth with an 8-6 tally. Just outside the top-10 was the other rookie Nate Thrasher in 11th (12-10). Justin Cooper finished third in Moto 1, but was unable to start Moto 2 - giving him 12th overall.
Cooper Gets His First Overall of the Season in Colorado

Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Justin Cooper came into the penultimate Lucas Oil Pro Motocross round at the Thunder Valley MX Park with a win as the goal. It came to fruition for the New Yorker who finished the day on top with a 2-1 moto score. The 250MX points leader, Dylan Ferrandis, maintained his points lead with only two motos remaining this season, following a 1-3 moto result for second overall. Shane McElrath was a fixture at the front, finishing the day with a 3-5 to end up fourth overall. Rookie Jarrett Frye earned a career-best finish inside the top 10, scoring ninth overall on a 9-10 moto score. The newest member of the team, Nate Thrasher, had a solid result in his pro debut, bringing it home in 13th overall (11-16).
Ferrandis, Cooper Bring the Heat with a 1-2 Finish in Florida

Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis set a blistering pace to win both motos at the WW Ranch National and expand his points lead in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250MX Championship. His teammate Justin Cooper joined him on the podium with two solid moto finishes (4-2) for second overall. Shane McElrath battled through the challenging conditions to take a top-five with a 7-4 result. In just his second race, Jarrett Frye put in a good showing with a pair of 12-place finishes for 11th overall.
