Josh Grant

This Californian youngster shocked the Supercross fraternity by winning the opening round of the 2009 campaign in what was his maiden ride on the JGR Yamaha YZ450F. It marked the first ever win in the series by a rookie, as Grant had moved up from the Lites class in 2008 where he finished 5th overall on the East Coast.

The rest of the ’09 season saw Grant a front-runner in the extremely competitive championship and he posted regular points-scores to end the 17 rounds with an impressive 4th. His motocross schedule was affected by injury but he still managed another top five slot. Grant turned Pro in 2004 at the age of 18 after winning 9 amateur titles and fulfilled the role of protagonist in the smaller cylinder category, notably taking 3rd positions in the 2006 and 2007 MX series, 2006 East Coast Supercross and a victory at the US Open in the same year. For 2010 he is expected to challenge for race wins alongside Stewart, Reed and Villopoto.
