The Estenson Racing Yamaha 2021 YZ450F is a production-based motorcycle, and the product of years of testing and development by Yamaha Motor Corporation engineers. The 2021 YZ450F has been redefined with a more compact motor, a thoroughly refined and balanced chassis, and improved ergonomics which will all give the rider the ability to perform at their best while reducing the overall weight. It is similar to what is seen racing in Motocross, but tailored to suit the needs of racing American Flat Track AFT Singles racing.
Compared to a top-level Motocross machine, one of the key differences is in suspension. It is lowered and re-valved specifically for flat track. The engines are tuned a little more specific for top speed, especially for the fast Mile and Half-Mile tracks. Wheel sizes are different as well. American Flat Track uses 19-inch dirt track wheels shod with dirt track tires for both the front and rear, while Motocross runs a 19-inch rear and 21-inch front with knobby tires. Another visual difference, and quintessentially flat track, is no front brake. The only exception to this rule is when the series races on a TT track.
