Alessandro Botturi

Carrying a vast amount of experience in off-road and rally racing, Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team's Alessandro Botturi has got what it takes to battle for the top at next January's Dakar Rally.

Blessed with a strong physical conditioning and acute riding abilities, the rider from Brescia is ready to make his sixth participation in the world's most demanding rally count.

Enjoying a remarkable career in enduro racing Botturi was a top-class Enduro World Championship competitor for twelve consecutive years. Winning the International Six Days Enduro twice as part of Italy's World Trophy Team, he also secured nine Italian Enduro Championship titles over the years.

The switch to rallies came before the 2012 Dakar, with Botturi getting his rally racing career off to an amazing start with an eighth place overall result at that year's event. Since then the likeable Italian has been a strong contender in every rally he has taken part in, winning various events such as the Sardinia Rally in 2014 and the Merzouga Rally in 2015.

With his first Dakar outing as part of the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team in 2016 cut short due to injury, Botturi has been working hard to be 100% ready for the upcoming South American event. Returning to competitive action following his injury at the 2016 Sardinia Rally he went on to claim two stage wins and finish an impressive fourth overall at his home round of the 2016 FIM Cross-Country Rallies Championship.

Aboard Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team's heavily updated WR450F Rally machine Botturi is looking to make his 2017 Dakar Rally outing the most successful of his rally racing career.
