Franco Caimi

Following a highly successful career in enduro racing, Franco Caimi made the switch to rally competition at the age of 28, impressing the global rally scene by securing an eighth place result at his very first Dakar Rally in 2017.

A professional rally rider born in Mendoza, Franco isn't only passionate about dirt bikes but also engages regularly in sports to remain fit. Caimi began his racing career as an enduro rider, achieving three Argentinian Enduro Championships, three Chilean Enduro Championships, two Latin America Enduro Championships, and a staggering six Gold Medals at the prestigious ISDE.

During 2016 Caimi decided to make a change in his career and threw himself into rally competition. Collecting an impressive top-10 result and becoming the highest-placed rookie at his first Dakar in 2017, Franco joined the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team for the coming season of international rally competition.

Showing impressive speed on his very first race aboard the WR450F Rally machine, he claimed a solid third place result at the 2017 Merzouga Rally. Kicking off the 2018 Dakar Rally with a strong seventh place stage one result, Franco remained inside the top 10 for the first five days of racing in Peru. Suffering a crash on stage five the young Argentinean made a series of small mistakes in the following stages and was unable to finish the 2018 Dakar Rally.

Enjoying a strong season of international rally racing in 2018, Franco placed fourth at the Merzouga Rally, fifth at the Atacama Rally and seventh at the Desafio Inka. The 2019 Dakar Rally will be the third in Franco’s career and the rider from Mendoza hopes to make it count.
