Rodney Faggotter

A highly-experienced rally racer, Rodney Faggotter has played a crucial role for the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team during the last two editions of the Dakar Rally. Enjoying an extremely consistent run that saw him finish 16th overall at the 2018 Dakar Rally, the Aussie will look to improve on this result in January 2019.

No stranger to multi-stage racing, Rod is a two-time Australian Safari winner and a three-time Condo 750 Rally winner. Making his debut appearance at the prestigious Dakar Rally in 2012, he went on to claim a superb 14th place overall result as a Yamaha France supported rider one year later. He was also the second best privateer finisher in 2013.

Along with a vast amount of experience in rally competition, one of Rodney's greatest advantages is his acute mechanical skills. Working hard over the past few months to be 100% ready for his return to the Dakar Rally, Rodney Faggotter is looking forward to his third participation in the prestigious event.

Wrapping up his debut aboard the WR450F Rally machine with a top ten result at the 2016 OiLibya Morocco Rally, Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team's Rodney Faggotter was fired up for an equally strong outing at the 2017 Dakar Rally, though unfortunately a minor technical issue forced him to retire despite a strong start.

Enjoying an extremely consistent run at the 2018 Dakar, the Aussie was there to provide assistance whenever his teammates needed him. Despite losing some time halfway through the race to assist his teammate Franco Caimi, Rod crossed the finish line of the event with a positive 16th place in the final overall standings.

Rodney will be entering his third Dakar aboard WR450F Rally machinery in 2019.
