Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart and Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup Benelux Riders Guest at Yamaha's Official WorldSBK teams at Assen

On 22-24 April, the second round of the FIM Superbike World Championship was held at the TT Circuit Assen. Riders of the Benelux Yamaha R125 bLU cRU Cup and the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup were invited to experience the large presence that Yamaha has in the WorldSBK paddock on Friday.

The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup is also supporting six rounds of the European WorldSBK races, including at the TT Circuit Assen. An ideal opportunity for the young riders from the Benelux to see the inner workings of the Cup, which is the next step for them.

Next on the program was a visit to the pit boxes of the Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK team, the GYRT GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team and the Dutch Ten Kate Yamaha WorldSSP Supported Team. Here the youngsters could see the Yamaha R1 and R6 machines up close and experience what happens within the garages to make everything possible. The icing on the cake was when reigning WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu, teammate Andrea Locatelli, GYTR GRT Yamaha’s Kohta Nozane and WorldSSP title-winner Dominique Aegerter came by to get acquainted.

After this special visit, lunch was ready in the Yamaha hospitality to relax and let everything sink in. Razgatlioglu took some time for pictures with some of the young riders before this instructive and impressive day came to an end for the Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart and Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup riders.

Yamaha R125 / R3 bLU cRU Cup

Obviously this is great for our young riders, they normally only see this on TV. It's great that we get the opportunity on behalf of Yamaha to give them a look behind the scenes. This weekend the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup also raced at the TT Circuit Assen and that is of course the next step for our drivers to look forward to. It's nice to see how they experience a day like this and what they learn from it. The World Superbike Championship is of course the highest level and they can now see up close how professional they work here. The young drivers can learn from this that, in addition to performance on the track, things such as orderliness and presentation to the outside world are also important.

Winner of the first two 2022 Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart races

The first two Yamaha R125 Cup races went very well. I qualified second and had the top start in both races, in the end I won them both by a lead! It was really cool to see Yamaha's World Superbike teams up close. I did not expect how big it all is and how many people are working there. There is much more to it than I had previously thought, a lot of people are constantly busy with all kinds of things. It was also very nice to meet Toprak Razgatlioglu and Andrea Locatelli. They were very nice and took the time for us to take pictures and sign autographs.
