At the tender age of 13, the motivated youngster stepped up to the highly competitive EMX125 championship, where he qualified for the main event at every round that he attended.
Kooiker joined the Hutten Metaal Yamaha Official EMX250 team at the start of 2020, despite suffering a minor injury while training on his 125cc in Spain. The team have assisted the Dutch prodigy in his recovery and have given him time to transition from his YZ125 to his new GYTR kitted YZ250F.
As one of the youngest riders inside the EMX250 Championship this season, Kooiker’s main goal will be to consistently progress, and eventually challenge for the podium in 2021.
