Andrew Short

Recently joining the Monster Energy Yamaha Rally Official Team is the popular supercross-turned-rally racer, Andrew Short. As his AMA motocross and supercross racing days were coming to a close, Short’s pure love of offroad riding continued as the American transitioned into rally, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his long career and fulfilling a dream of competing at the Dakar.

Enjoying a successful AMA Supercross and Motocross career spanning close to 16 years, many impressive results were achieved along the way. Enjoying multiple race wins and podium results both indoors and out, highlights include a triumphant victory as part of Team USA at the 2010 Motocross of Nations, along with winning the Seattle round of the 2012 450SX championship.

With his rally career picking up pace and with his sights set firmly on competing at the Dakar, his dream became reality in 2018 where he recorded a strong 17th place finish in his very first attempt. This was bettered just one year later with a stunning sixth overall at the world’s most prestigious rally event.

Joining the Monster Energy Yamaha Rally Official Team in March 2020 shortly after his 10th place finish at the Dakar Rally, Andrew has since been hard at work getting fully acquainted with his WR450F Rally in preparation for the 2021 Dakar Rally.
