Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp used the Jerez Moto2 & Moto3 Official Test to prepare for the remaining 2023 Moto2 race weekends. Manuel Gonzalez was the sole rider for the team, giving him a full-on testing schedule. He successfully tried a new swingarm amongst other things and finished in eighth place in the combined classification.
The Moto2 class were given three free practice sessions at 10:50-12:00, 13:30-14:40, and 16:15-17:30 at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto today. The number-18 rider made full use of them, getting in 21, 25, and 23 laps respectively.
Gonzalez needed little time to get back into a rhythm after the Spanish GP and completed FP1 with a best time of 1‘41.553s. The lap was faster than any of his laps posted last weekend and earned him eighth place. For FP2 the temperature had gone up significantly, resulting in a slower pace. Manugasss clocked a 1‘42.235s, which again put him in eighth position in the session rankings. He kept pushing all the way to the chequered flag in FP3. The Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp man set a 1‘42.193s to wrap up the final free practice in fifth. However, with his morning session time being faster, he ended the day in eighth place in the combined timesheets.
The Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp equipe will now enjoy one week off before travelling to Le Mans for the Grand Prix de France.
