The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team are delighted to be back in action the upcoming three weekends. The triple-header starts with the Gran Premio d‘Italia Oakley, where Manuel Gonzalez will be joined by replacement rider Kasma Daniel bin Kasmayudin.
Gonzalez‘ race in Le Mans ended early because of an unfortunate collision with another rider who crashed ahead of him. The Spaniard was lucky to escape the incident without injuries and was therefore able to still do some full-on training in the three weeks leading up to the Italian GP. He joined the 12th Yamaha VR46 Master Camp training week as an instructor and is feeling top-fit and ready to be on the attack in Mugello to climb up from P12 in the overall standings.
Kasma Daniel is a familiar name to those who have followed the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp since its beginning in 2016. The Malaysian rider was a participant in the first and second edition. MotoGP fans may also know him from his earlier experience in Moto3 (2017 Malaysian GP wild card) and Moto2 (a permanent seat in 2020 and a 2022 Malaysian GP wild card). Though he is currently active in the Asia Superbike 1000 category riding a YZF-R1M, he is feeling positive he will be able to use his previous intermediate class experience in Mugello, albeit he has never ridden at this venue before. Mugello is considered one of the most beautiful tracks on the calendar thanks to its mixture of uphill and downhill sections and a variety of fast and slow turns. The 5245-metre-long Tuscan circuit hosted its first MotoGP event back in 1976 and became a permanent fixture in 1991. The Italian GP is famous for its great atmosphere and is said to be a ’must-be-at event‘ for motorcycle fans.
