Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp rallied to help Manuel Gonzalez, the sole rider for the team at the Grand Prix de France, to make a strong start to Round 5 of the 2023 Moto2 World Championship. Gonzalez had a good feeling in the Friday sessions and ended the day in tenth place in the combined practice results.
Gonzalez aimed to use P1 to confirm the improvements made during the Moto2 Official Jerez Test held on the Tuesday after the Spanish GP. He was impatient to start riding and soon proved the team is on the right track by topping the session early on. He then focused on the bike‘s set-up before speeding up at the end again with a 1‘36.989s best time, set on lap 16/19, to finish the practice in sixth place.
Manugasss showed his strong work ethic in the afternoon. He put in 21 laps as he worked on finding a good race rhythm. He left it until the final stages, when the chequered flag had already come out, to set his fastest time, a 1‘36.929s. It earned him tenth place in the P2 and the combined timesheets.
