The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team put in a day of hard work at the Spielberg Circuit in Austria today. Manuel Gonzalez tried various settings but was unable to graduate from the Q1 session to Q2 and will start tomorrow‘s Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich Moto2 race from P26. Keminth Kubo continues his learning process, getting in as many laps as possible. The Thai rider finished in 28th place in the overall qualifying results.
Gonzalez used the morning practice session to find a setting that suits the special lay-out of the Spielberg track. He made a step compared to yesterday but had to take part in the Q1 session. The Spaniard again tried a new setting solution in qualifying, but it wasn‘t to his liking. He completed seven laps and posted a best time of 1‘35.205s, set on lap 3. It puts him in 26th place on tomorrow‘s grid.
Kubo had spent the second day of the Austrian GP further studying the lines, riding styles, and trying to improve braking. He had to take part in Q1 and was pushing, putting his findings to the test. He saved the best for last when he clocked a 1‘35.301s on lap 8/8. He will start tomorrow‘s race from P28.
