Manuel Gonzalez made his world championship debut in the 2017 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship when he participated in the season's last race as a wild card. Shortly after, at just 15 years old, he would become European Talent Cup Champion, and with those credentials, he joined WorldSSP300 full-time in 2018 on a Yamaha YZF-R3.
In 2018 the Spaniard was a podium finisher three times - in the process becoming the youngest rider to finish on the WorldSSP300 podium - and ended the season as the top Yamaha R3 rider, taking sixth in the final standings.
The following season, Gonzalez was simply sensational - taking three victories, six podiums and three pole positions on his way to the 2019 WorldSSP300 title - making history in the process as the youngest ever road racing world champion.
In 2020, Gonzalez joined the FIM Supersport World Championship and showed incredible consistency, never finishing outside the top 10 on his way to seventh in the championship in a stunning rookie season.
In his second season in WorldSSP, Gonzalez made a big step forward, taking two victories and a further five podiums to finish the 2021 championship in third overall.
For 2022 the Spaniard makes the step up to the Moto2 World Championship with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team.
