Yamaha YZ450FM

The YZ450FM is distinct from its production cousin, the YZ450F, in that it has been specifically designed and modified for the highest level of competition by the Yamaha Racing Factory. The bike has been developed from years of dedication to the craft of high-performance racing, and was the first Yamaha off-road motocross machine with an electric start, which was introduced in 2015. The YZ450FM contains layers of secret internals with extra attention being paid to certain parts such as the cams and piston. It also features a completely reworked clutch, a one of a kind four-speed factory gearbox, tailor made radiators and unique radiator caps that keep the engine cool even at top speeds.

Each year brings greater advances in technology. In 2018, the YZ450FM was made narrower and more compact, offering extra stability and control over rough terrain, better braking, and even greater traction. The power delivery was made more linear which meant the bike had a smoother delivery of power, and acceleration was optimized. Thanks to the collected data and feedback from the Official Yamaha riders, the YZ450FM continues to take strides in its development and is expected to be one of the main protagonists in the nineteen-round 2019 MXGP series that traverses the world.
