Henry Jacobi Joins SM Action M.C. Migliori Yamaha for 2020 MXGP Season

SM Action M.C. Migliori Yamaha are excited to announce that they will enter the MXGP class in 2020 with 23-year-old German talent Henry Jacobi, and have retained their MX2 star Maxime Renaux for another season in MX2.

After finishing fifth in the 2019 MX2 World Championship despite missing two rounds through injury, Jacobi is excited to move up to the 450cc class where he will race a YZ450F in his rookie season.

Jacobi, who turned 23-years-old on October 29th, is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained at the MXGP of Sweden in August this year but is scheduled to be back on the bike as of December 1st.

After an incredible 2019 season where he secured his first ever podium finish and challenged for race wins on his way to finishing seventh overall in the 2019 MX2 World Championship, 19-year-old Frenchman Maxime Renaux will remain with the SM Action M.C. Migliori team for a third consecutive season.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to enter the MXGP class with the support of Yamaha Motor Europe, it is an honour. There is no doubt that they will give me the best possible material to achieve my goals and build a future in MXGP. I have already met the people from the SM Action M.C. Migliori team as well and they directly welcomed me with open arms. I like the family atmosphere in the team, this is what I need on race weekends. I will be based in Germany, close to the Dutch boarder, living with my agent and trainer Christoph Selent, who will work closely together with Gareth Swanepoel from the US. Everything seems to be falling into place for next season and I am looking forward to work with such great people and make this opportunity count.

I'm really happy to stay with Yamaha and SM Action M.C. Migliori for the 2020 MX2 season. We have a new goal and new support and I will do my best to fight up front. It is a great honor that all of these people put their trust in me and I am thankful for that.
