Following last night’s storm, today's program at the opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Matterley Basin, Great Britain, was delayed and revised for safety reasons.

Infront Moto Racing announced a new schedule that would see each class have a combined Free and Timed Practice session. The qualifying races for the MXGP and MX2 classes were canceled and there was no further on-track action for the MXGP and MX2 riders.

In MXGP, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP riders weathered a storm-struck session. Despite the heavy rainfall, hail and high-speed winds, Gautier Paulin managed to set the 9th fastest time with a 2:44.343 lap. Jeremy Seewer posted a 2:45.076 and was classified 13th while Arnaud Tonus finished up his session in 20th with a 2:47.431.

As a result of the annulled sessions, the lap times from the 35-minute practice session will determine the order in which the riders will go to the gate for the two championship races tomorrow, March 1st. The gates will drop for the opening race at 13:15 (GMT) followed by Race 2 at 16:10 (GMT). All races can be watched live on www.mxgp-tv.com
