Unpredictable weather at the Frauenfeld circuit made for challenging conditions, as intermittent rain showers created a rough, rutted, and highly technical track. A good start was essential to a good result. Unfortunately, all three Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP riders faced challenges early on. Glenn Coldenhoff mistimed the start and hit the gate, while Maxime Renaux and Jeremy Seewer got entangled with one another, resulting in Seewer colliding with another rider and starting from the back of the pack.
Despite the initial setback, Renaux quickly recovered, emerging from turn one in fifth place. He continued to pressure the leaders, climbing to fourth before a minor error on the penultimate lap dropped him back to fifth.
Fueled by the overwhelming support of the home crowd, Seewer displayed tremendous determination as he charged back into the race. He managed to climb back up to ninth place, only to fall again after hitting neutral in a rutted right-hander. Undeterred, the Swiss star sprang back to his feet and fought his way to an astonishing sixth-place finish, while Coldenhoff struggled to find his rhythm and completed the race in 10th.
With the MXGP of Switzerland not running on Easter Sunday, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP and MX2 teams will enjoy an unprecedented day off. The Grand Prix will resume on Monday, April 10th.

A thrilling start to the Swiss Grand Prix, round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, saw Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2's Thibault Benistant secure his first MX2 Qualifying Race win of the year. Teammate Jago Geerts battled back from a mid-race crash to claim third place, while Rick Elzinga made a solid comeback, finishing ninth.
