Phenomenal Top Five Start to Finnish Grand Prix for Full Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Line-up

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP's Glenn Coldenhoff and Jeremy Seewer showcased their potential by qualifying inside the top five at the 14th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Vantaa, Finland. At the same time, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2's Jago Geerts closed the gap in the MX2 Championship fight with an impressive third place finish, while Rick Elzinga achieved a career-best fifth place.

The opening day of the Finnish Grand Prix was marked by heavy rainfall, creating challenging conditions on the tight, rough, and sandy Vantaa circuit. Seewer got off to a brilliant start but drifted wide and emerged from turn-one in fourth with Coldenhoff following closely in sixth. While the MXGP Qualifying Race was relatively uneventful, Coldenhoff kept the pressure on his teammate and made a successful pass on the final lap to secure fourth. Seewer finished fifth.

The adverse weather conditions, combined with the narrow track and wet sand, posed visibility challenges for the riders. Despite starting outside of the top-10, Geerts displayed remarkable determination and charged hard to secure third.

At the same time, Rick Elzinga showcased his emerging talent by challenging the top three riders for most of the race but was edged by Liam Everts for fourth on the final lap. Nevertheless, the Dutchman was satisfied with his progress, and his career-best fifth place result.
