In MX2, a frantic start to the Qualifying Race saw Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2’s Thibault Benistant get hit by another rider at high speed down the start straight, resulting in a heavy fall that put him out of contention. The young Frenchman suffered a big hit to his rib cage and has been taken to hospital for further evaluation. An update on his condition will be shared when available.
At the same time, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2’s Jago Geerts pushed through the scorching hot conditions and battled his way to a respectable sixth-place finish, while Rick Elzinga also showcased his talent by securing 12th.
