Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Students Declared Fit to Start Ninth Edition

Five new protégées, all up-and-coming riders currently competing in the 2021 WorldSSP300 championship or Yamaha Motor Europe’s 2021 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup, have travelled to Cattolica to kick off the ninth edition of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp training programme, held this week starting today and finishing on Sunday.

The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp training programme is arranged by nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, and the VR46 Riders Academy. The revamped Master Camp has been structured in such a way that it will allow the riders to gain valuable skills in various racing disciplines with the help of specialised coaches, including the VR46 Academy riders, multiple-time flat track champion Marco Belli, fitness trainer Carlo Casabianca, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s eSport player Lorenzo Daretti (aka Trastevere73), and legendary surfer Alessandro Marcianò who is acknowledged worldwide for his records.

The new Master Camp students are Yamaha MS Racing WorldSSP300 Supported Team's Unai Orradre (aged 17, from Spain) and Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha WorldSSP300 Supported Team's Bahattin Sofuoglu (aged 17, from Turkey), participating in the WorldSSP300 championship, together with Humberto “Turquinho” Maier (aged 15, from Brazil), Fenton Harrison Seabright (aged 19, from the UK), and Iker Garcia Abella (aged 17, from Spain) who are Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup riders.

The racing experts will monitor the Master Camp trainees’ progress and help them further develop their riding skills to boost their performances when they continue their challenge in their respective racing series.

On Day 0 of the Master Camp, all five riders completed a physical check and Covid-19 swap test, which they all passed with flying colours, allowing them to officially take part in this illustrious training programme. Thanks to the on and off track gear provided by official Master Camp partners Oakley and Alpinestars they are ready for their new adventure.
