Alessandro Botturi

46-year-old Italian Alessandro Botturi is a legend in two-wheeled off-road motorsport. Starting his career in trials, Botturi is a two-time International Six Day Trial Champion (2005 & 2007) and went on to compete in the World Enduro Championship.

His name is synonymous with the Dakar, and he has completed the rally a number of times with a stage podium to his name and a best-placed overall finish of eighth. On top of this, he is a two-time winner of the Rally Sardinia. He also tasted victory in the Transanatolia and Merzuoga Rallies and emerged victorious in the last two editions of the Africa Eco Race.

Botturi got the inaugural season for the Ténéré World Raid Team off to the perfect start by storming to victory at the Tunisia Desert Challenge before ensuring Yamaha secured a 1-2 in class at the Africa Eco Race along with his teammate after finishing 24th overall.

In 2023, Botturi will once again compete for the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team along with teammate Pol Tarres onboard a GYTR-kitted Ténéré 700 World Raid bike.
