Papenmeier & Van de Ven Maintain Podium Form

Yamaha Germany's Larissa Papenmeier and No Fear Yamaha WMX's Nancy van de Ven maintained their perfect podium streaks at the third round of the WMX World Championship in Loket, Czech Republic. The duo tied on points. Papenmeier was second overall, and van de Ven was third.

After a nasty fall in the first practice session, van de Ven bounced back with a vengeance in the first race of the weekend as she stormed from outside of the top-five and up into second position. While she was unable to catch the eventual race winner, Courtney Duncan, after twisting her knee, she did manage to pull away from the rest of the field for an easy second place finish.

Papenmeier was the fastest rider on track in the first practice session but had to overcome some small issues in the first race to finish fourth. After a frustrating result in the opening race, the small statured German made the most of her positive feeling on the track and charged past van de Ven to finish second position in the final race of the weekend. Van de Ven placed fourth after suffering from an issue in the closing stages of the race.

Papenmeier and van de Ven have mounted the second and third steps of the podium at every round of the WMX Championship this season. The duo rounds out the top-three in the championship. Van de Ven trails the leader by 14-points and has a 3-point advantage over fellow YZ250F rider Papenmeier.

The next round of the FIM Women's Motocross World Championship will take place on the weekend of August 16th in Imola, Italy.
