With rain expected on Friday (4 March), Nozane and Gerloff went on track from Wednesday to begin their 2022 campaigns. The first day allowed the riders to regain their feeling and confidence on the bikes, with more focus on development scheduled for the following day.
Rain showers throughout the afternoon though meant that Gerloff and Nozane’s running was somewhat disrupted, with the American managing 21 laps, while his Japanese teammate completed 16.
On the second day, conditions improve on-track, and both Nozane and Gerloff were able to run a lot of laps. The GRT Yamaha squad tested new parts brought by Yamaha, such as tank and seat, with the riders giving positive feedback. 1’49.820 was Gerloff’s fastest time, while Nozane managed a 1’51.238.
The next pre-season test event for the GRT Yamaha team is scheduled for 16-17 March at the Misano World Circuit.
