Having previously run young Yamaha riders in the FIM Supersport World Championship and FIM Supersport 300 World Championship, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team stepped up to the FIM Superbike World Championship in 2021.

That season, they contested the European rounds, running Italian Roberto Tamburini. Running an older spec-Yamaha R1, the team took a best result of 10th in Barcelona and were consistently fighting for points-paying positions.

For 2023, the team brought Bradley Ray on board to once against contest the European WorldSBK rounds.
