Caricasulo Secures Pole for WorldSSP Opener in Phillip Island

Evan Bros. Bardahl Yamaha Supported WorldSSP rider, Federico Caricasulo, will start the opening race of the 2019 Supersport World Championship from pole position, after topping the timesheet in today’s Superpole shootout in Phillip Island.

Randy Krummenacher will start from second on the grid tomorrow. Krummenacher was fastest at Phillip Island yesterday but twice got baulked by slower riders during the 25-minute Superpole session this afternoon and was unable to surpass the time of his Bardahl Yamaha teammate.

GMT94 Yamaha Supported WorldSSP rider, Jules Cluzel, will round out the front row of the grid for tomorrow’s 16 lap race, which will include a mandatory pit stop. Riders are free to choose when to do their pit-stop, under the condition that no tyre is used for more than 10 laps. Cluzel’s GMT94 Yamaha teammate, Corentin Perolari, will start from the fifth row of the grid after qualifying 14th today.

Thomas Gradinger was the highest placed of the three Kallio Racing Yamaha WorldSSP riders in sixth position, with Isaac Viñales 11th and Loris Cresson in 19th.
