The 19-lap race started off dry, and it was the Ten Kate Racing pairing of Manzi and Jorge Navarro who looked strong off the line, slotting into second and fourth respectively. Navarro, riding impressively considering his crash on Saturday, then managed to shoot into third, but his team-mate was already three seconds up the road. With 14 laps to go Manzi had closed the gap to the race leader, Nicolò Bulega, and was looking very strong as he slipped into second before rain began to fall around the Czech track.
Conditions changed rapidly, with rain turning heavy within just a few laps, Manzi initially tried to keep going and ride tentatively but soon realised the only option was to pit in for a tyre change along with his rivals. For Navarro it was too late and he went down before making it into the pits. Manzi rejoined with Bulega and was fighting it out with his title rival for as many points as possible, but with just eight laps to go he suffered a technical problem and was forced to retire from the race. Although with Bulega also failing to score points, the Yamaha rider’s hopes for the title campaign remain intact.
Anupab Sarmoon stayed out on slicks for as long as possible, and the Thai rider was leading the race when he also fell out of contention due to a crash, but he re-joined the pack and worked his way up to salvage an eighth-place result.
The honour of ‘Top Yamaha’ went the way of Gradinger, after a very impressive run gave him a sixth-place finish. The Austrian was wildcarding in Most and decided to stay out on slick tyres for the duration of the race.
