Manzi was fourth in the morning’s FP1 session on the Spanish circuit which is traditionally a tough one for Yamaha. Jorge Navarro, making the most of a track he knows well, set the ninth fastest time in the first session of the day. Glenn van Straalen (EAB Racing Team) also featured in the morning’s proceedings with 10th place.
In the afternoon the Ten Kate pair both improved their times to move third and fourth on combined, with Manzi sitting just +0.295 from the top of the timesheet and Navarro +0.466. After his impressive display last time out in Magny-Cours, Valentin Debise (GMT94 Yamaha) continued his good run of form to take eighth on combined. Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) used his prior track knowledge to place 11th on the first day of action.
