After winning the Italian CIV 125 GP title in 2012, Lorenzo Dalla Porta moved to the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship in 2015. He went on to lift the title in just his second season while impressing during several wildcards in the full Moto3 World Championship.
He moved to the Moto3 class full-time in 2017, and in 2019, the Italian claimed the World Championship title before moving up to Moto2, scoring five points in his rookie campaign.
He doubled that a year later as he remained with the Italtrans Racing Team outfit until the end of the 2022 season. For 2023, he completed seven races for two different teams in Moto2 before moving to WorldSSP after signing with the Evan Bros Yamaha Team while impressing as an injury replacement for Andrea Mantovani.
