Soomer

2021 will mark 23-year-old Estonian rider Hannes Soomer’s 11th year of riding. Soomer made his WorldSSP debut in 2016, contesting three rounds. In 2017 he won the European Supersport Cup, and followed this up with title victory in the 2018 Estonian Superbike championship.

2018 marked Soomer’s first full WorldSSP season, where he finished fifteenth in the rider standings.

In 2019 he entered his second WorldSSP season, improving to fourteenth overall with a season best result of seventh.

2020 saw Soomer join the Kallio Racing Yamaha WorldSSP Supported Team aboard the R6, and it proved to be his best season to date. After a solid first half of the season, Soomer scored a breakthrough podium, after a stellar ride to third in the opening Magny-Cours race. But the Estonian wasn't done there, as he claimed another third-place finish in the second race, followed by yet another podium in the final round at Estoril.

Kallio Racing Yamaha retained Soomer for their 2021 campaign and having broken his podium duck, the 23-year-old will head into the new season full of confidence.
