Having narrowly missing out on the 2018 Supersport World Championship title after a dramatic final round in Qatar, Jules Cluzel joins forces with the GMT94 Yamaha WorldSSP Supported Team for the 2019 season.
Following a successful start to his racing career in France, Cluzel made his World Championship debut as a wildcard in the French 125cc Grand Prix in 2005, before making his full time debut in the 250cc World Championship the following season. The Frenchman spent two seasons in the Moto2 World Championship, where he claimed a race win and a podium finish before switching to the WorldSBK paddock.
Cluzel has been a regular contender in WorldSSP since making his debut in the class back in 2012. The 30-year-old Frenchman has amassed 17 wins 40 podium finishes and has ended as runner up in the championship on three occasions. So far the World Championship title has proved elusive, but this is a situation that Cluzel is keen to rectify in 2019 aboard the GMT Yamaha YZF-R6.
