In the morning the fastest Yamaha rider was Matteo Vannucci (AG Motorsport Italia Yamaha) as the Italian slotted into 5th place, just one spot ahead of Galang Hendra Pratama (Sublime Racing by MS Racing). Marco Gaggi (Team BrCorse) placed himself in the Top 10 with ninth. Gennai took a few laps to find his rhythm and closed the morning in 13th.
Everything clicked into place for Gennai in the perfect conditions of Friday afternoon and the Italian clocked the fastest time, more than a second and a half faster than he managed in FP1, which gave him the head of the combined classification too. A strong start to the weekend for Gennai, who remains in title contention. Hendra Pratama closed the day in the Top 10 with eighth, and Ruben Bijman showed potential all day to finish ninth.
R3 bLU cRU European Championship rider Marc Vich is making his wildcard debut in WorldSSP300 this weekend and the young Spaniard finished 21st as he adjusted to the change in class.
