In Friday morning’s warm and bright FP1 it was Mirko Gennai (Team BrCorse), Devis Bergamini (ProGP Racing) and Marco Gaggi (Team BrCorse) who shone on their Yamaha machines, taking fifth, sixth and eighth respectively in the session. Meanwhile, Vannucci (AG Motorsport Italia Yamaha) and Humberto Maier (Yamaha MS Racing/AD78 Latin America Team) found themselves initially struggling on the Italian track, finishing the first session in 17th and 20th.
The situation changed in a scorching FP2 and Vannucci made a charge to the top of the timesheets, topping the session by just +0.061. Maier also climbed up the order, taking fifth. Home rider Emanuele Cazzaniga (Racestar) and Indonesia’s Galang Mahendra Pratama (Sublime Racing by MS Racing) also impressed with seventh and eighth in the session.
The combined times placed Vannucci in second place and Maier in fifth, with a gang of Yamaha riders chasing them down; Cazzaniga, Gennai, Mahendra Pratama and Bergamini placed eighth to 11th.
