Orradre Continues Impressive Form to Head bLU cRU Riders on Friday at Aragón

After two weekends off, the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship returned to action at MotorLand Aragón, with the Yamaha bLU cRU riders impressing during Friday’s free practice sessions at the Spanish venue.

Leading the bLU cRU charge was early season title contender Unai Orradre for Yamaha MS Racing WorldSSP300 Supported Team. The 16-year-old, who has experience of the track from his championship-winning Spanish Junior Superbike campaign, was quickly on the pace, taking third in his FP1 group. The Spaniard went one better in FP2 and ended the day fifth on combined times.

Behind Orradre was Yamaha MS Racing team-mate Ton Kawakami, who returns to the circuit that he made his WorldSSP300 debut at last year. The Brazilian was ninth in his group during Friday morning’s practice, going second-fastest in the warmer afternoon session to place 12th overall.

Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha WorldSSP300 Supported Team’s Bahattin Sofuoğlu struggled in the morning session, but a late lap in FP2 ensured he made it into the top 30 with his time good enough for 26th. The current championship runner-up will aim for further improvements in FP3 tomorrow to solidify his place in the main races.

German rookie Alan Kroh had a solid opening day at Aragón, with the 16-year-old Yamaha MS Racing rider showing consistent pace throughout both sessions, going 10th quickest in his FP2 group this afternoon to place 30th overall, on the cusp of automatic qualification.

Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha rider Alvaro Diaz ended the day in 37th, but the Spanish rookie has already shown so far this season, at both Jerez and Portimao, that he’s capable of making big steps forward throughout the weekend.
