Sofuoğlu Ninth on Friday as Final WorldSSP300 Round Gets Underway at Portimão

The 2021 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship reaches its climax this weekend at the Algarve International Circuit, Portimão, with Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha WorldSSP300 Supported Team’s Bahattin Sofuoğlu going ninth fastest on Friday’s combined times.

After a strong run of form that has seen him score four podiums and two wins over the last two race weekends, bLU cRU rider Sofuoğlu was amongst the fastest riders throughout Free Practice 1, but was unable to improve during his late attempt due to traffic, dropping the Turkish youngster to ninth in the final moments.

In FP2, with track temperatures soaring well beyond 40 degrees centigrade, Sofuoğlu went third fastest in the session, but like most of the WorldSSP300 field, was unable to improve on his morning effort.

Next up for Sofuoğlu will be the Superpole qualifying session at 09:45 (GMT+1) tomorrow, followed by the first of the final two races of the year at 12:35.
