After going third in his group in this morning’s FP1 session, Sofuoğlu went second overall after a brief red flag in the afternoon. With just a few minutes remaining, the Turkish rider had a small fall while on a fast lap and ended FP2 in seventh.
Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha teammate Alvaro Diaz also impressed on the opening day in France. The Spanish rookie was just inside the top 30 after the morning running but made a big step forward in FP2 to end the day 11th on combined times.
Yamaha MS Racing WorldSSP300 Supported Team’s Unai Orradre was unable to put together a perfect lap in the slippery conditions and ended the day 22nd, one place ahead of teammate Ton Kawakami, who improved in the afternoon after a difficult start in FP1.
Their fellow Yamaha MS Racing rider, Alan Kroh, was just 0.227s outside of a top 30 position, needed for automatic entry into the two main races, ending the day 34th overall.
