Sofuoğlu Taken Out of Victory Contention in Magny-Cours Opener

In Saturday’s FIM Supersport 300 World Championship race at Magny-Cours, Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha WorldSSP300 Supported Team’s Bahattin Sofuoğlu was battling for victory, but was taken out of the race after being hit from behind with four laps to go.

After qualifying in ninth during the typically busy Superpole session, Sofuoğlu quickly made his way into the podium positions in the race. The bLU cRU rider was fighting for the lead, as the top six broke away out front, but on the 10th lap he was hit from behind going into the Turn 15 right-hander, which saw him record another unfortunate DNF.

The Turkish youngster was uninjured in the incident and will have another chance at claiming the elusive podium finish in tomorrow’s second race.
