After going fourth fastest in Free Practice 1 this morning, despite running just six laps, Vannucci improved his pace in the afternoon to end the day second overall. Fellow Italian Alfonso Coppola missed the opening session, but impressed in FP2 to end the day in fourth.
Championship leader Marc Garcia was in the mix once again, with his lap time in the afternoon good enough for sixth overall. Early title contender and bLU cRU graduate Alvaro Diaz was second in FP1, but was unable to make considerable gains in FP2, ending the day just behind former Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup rider Humberto Maier in 15th.
