Yamahas Run Strong In Dramatic and Ever-Changing Second WorldSSP 300 Race in Assen

The WorldSSP 300 riders were keen to line up for Sunday’s second race in Assen, and Yamaha’s riders shone in the extremely close and exciting race with Humberto Maier (Yamaha MS Racing/AD Latin America Team) and Matteo Vannucci (AG Motorsport Italia Yamaha) achieving a double podium for the blue brand.

The thrilling race saw chopping and changing of positions and plenty of sensational overtakes, but Yamaha’s representatives kept their eyes on the prize and showed their impressive potential. Brazil’s Maier was first to cross the line but was later demoted to 2nd place following a review of track limits and a reshuffling of results. Nevertheless, he was very happy with this strong finish. Similarly, Italy’s Vannucci looked on course for a potential victory as the pack piled into the famous Gert Timmer chicane, but he eventually finished 3rd. His compatriot, Mirko Gennai (Team BrCorse) grabbed a great 5th place result. And R3 bLU cRU graduate Enzo Valentim (Yamaha MS Racing/AD Latin America Team) took an encouraging 8th place.

It was an amazing Sunday despite losing the victory, I had to overcome a lot because a month ago I didn't know if I would be here due to a fracture in my hand.  Being able to fight at the front was a special feeling. Thanks to everyone who cheers for me, and to Yamaha and my team. Let's work hard this year.
