It was a case of mission completed for the Quaddy Racing Team as they ended a spectacular season in style by winning the T4 class at the fifth and final round of the FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas in Poland. Despite Ventura and Brun already being crowned champions after victory at Round 4 in Hungary, the duo did not let up for the season's final race that took place between the 2nd-4th of September.
Consisting of five special stages, the Baja Poland kicked off with a 6km Prologue on Friday, followed by two 216km stages on Saturday, before finishing with another two 30km stages on Sunday. Each stage took place over tricky sandy terrain that created a constantly changing environment, but the Quaddy Racing GYTR-kitted YXZ1000R once again showed its class against its prototype rivals.
After completing Friday’s Prologue second in the T4 category, Ventura and Brun powered through the tricky conditions to win the second stage and take the overall lead in the class. Pushing hard through the remaining three stages, they never relinquished their lead to secure the T4 victory by 5 minutes and 34 seconds from their closest rival and finish in tenth overall.
The win capped off a dominant season for the Quaddy Racing Team that saw them take four T4 victories and a second-place finish in the five races to secure the teams’, drivers’, and co-drivers’ titles in the class. The result also meant that Ventura and Brun secured third overall in the FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas Driver’s & Co-Driver’s Championships, respectively.
