After a disrupted 2020 season due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all of the riders are excited to get the 2021 YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup underway. This year, the competition is stronger than ever and the race to join the YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale at the prestigious FIM MXoN will certainly be one to watch throughout the campaign. In each class, YZ125, YZ85 and YZ65, 40 of the best-performing riders will be invited to the SuperFinale, where they will have the chance to compete on the same weekend as their MXGP and MX2 heroes.
As was the case at the most recent Superfinale, in 2019, the top three finishers of each race, as well as two wildcard riders, will automatically be invited to the highly esteemed bLU cRU Masterclass event at the end of the year. The winner of the 125, 85 and 65 categories in the Masterclass will have the fantastic opportunity to earn support from Yamaha Motor Europe next year, following in the footsteps of the last winners: Mairis Pumpurs (YZ125), who raced for the MJC Yamaha Official EMX125 Team in 2020, as well as valued Yamaha Family riders Dex Kooiker (YZ85), and Freddie Bartlett (YZ65) who are still receiving added support from Yamaha.
At the bLU cRU Masterclass, both road and off-road riders will receive expert tuition from bLU cRU ambassadors, with guidance from official riders. After three days of training, one YZ125 rider will contest the full EMX125 championship with support of Yamaha Motor Europe in 2022, while the winners of the 85 and 65 classes will earn valuable support and GYTR parts from Yamaha.
Throughout 2021, Yamaha Motor Europe will continue to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation. As always, the priority is to ensure that all riders, fans and their families are safe.
